Specialised Transport Coordinator

About the role

The Specialised Transport Coordinator at Coates Truganina plays a critical role in coordinating the safe, compliant and efficient movement of portable buildings and specialised assets across Victoria and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate portable building deliveries, collections, transfers and relocations.
• Plan transport movements to maximise truck utilisation and minimise delays, waiting time and unnecessary costs.
• Communicate transport requirements with customers, providers and internal teams.
• Monitor movements, manage delays, access issues and changing customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, load restraint and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
• Raise purchase orders, maintain records and monitor transport costs and utilisation.
• Challenge unsafe or inefficient practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Support asset utilisation and profitability with branch and operations teams.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating specialised transport, heavy equipment, portable buildings or oversized loads.
• Understanding of load restraint, loading/unloading risks and transport critical risks.
• Practical knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and shared responsibilities across the supply chain.
• Background in transport, hire, construction, quarry, infrastructure or heavy vehicle environments.
• Strong commercial awareness of transport costs, utilisation and productivity.
• Ability to analyse requirements and balance safety, service and cost.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries and providers.
• Confidence to stop or challenge unsafe or non‑compliant activities.
