Software Integration Environment Manager - AIR6500

About the role

The AIR6500 Software Integration Lab needs an experienced manager to own its operation, ensuring availability, stability, security and fit‑for‑purpose support for critical software integration and testing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Govern lab scheduling, code drops, release gates and manage competing engineering priorities.
• Maintain lab operations including system accounts, software, storage, documentation, performance, backup/recovery and computing resources.
• Drive reliability by monitoring uptime, analysing recurring failures and moving from reactive support to proactive sustainment.
• Automate recovery using Ansible playbooks for self‑service VM resets and recovery.
• Control configuration by auditing against approved Mission System baselines and ensuring authorised, traceable changes.
• Lead Tier 3 support, resolve complex issues and manage root‑cause/problem management.
• Plan capacity by analysing utilisation and forecasting infrastructure requirements.
• Coordinate across Engineering, Systems Administration, Cyber, Network and Engineering Tools teams to manage changes and maintain stability.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes and containerised environments.
• Strong background in DevSecOps, infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management.
• Experience supporting shared computing environments, including performance, storage, accounts and recovery.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure, collaborate across multiple teams and prioritize competing demands.
