Software & Integration Developers – Government Program

About the role

Profectus is hiring experienced software and integration developers to work on a major Australian Government program. The role involves designing, building and maintaining robust software components and integration services that connect multiple systems via APIs and messaging, while ensuring security, testability and maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, document and refactor software components and integration services.
• Build and maintain APIs, interfaces and messaging or integration flows across systems.
• Apply secure development standards, coding practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Diagnose and resolve defects, production issues and integration or environment problems.
• Conduct unit, integration and regression testing and support deployments and releases.
• Participate in peer reviews and contribute to engineering quality and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and configuration records.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on development experience with Java, Python.NET (C#) and JavaScript.
• Experience building integrations, APIs and messaging using enterprise integration middleware.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, version control and automated testing.
• Minimum Australian Government experience and ability to work in multi‑vendor delivery teams.
• Australian citizenship and an AGSVA Baseline security clearance (minimum).

Required skills

• Enterprise integration platforms, message queues and API gateways.
• Cloud‑native development on AWS or Azure.
• Agile or scaled‑agile (SAFe) delivery environments.
• Relevant developer or cloud certifications.
