Software Engineer, Portfolio Engine

About the role

This position is for a Software Engineer on the Portfolio Engine team, responsible for managing the commercial and entitlement lifecycle of Splunk’s cloud products. You will build and support backend services that power cloud order fulfillment and participate in on‑call rotations for critical incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs that manage customer entitlements, subscriptions, and commercial state across Splunk’s cloud product portfolio.
• Contribute to systems that automate order intake, validation, and fulfillment across multiple channels and product lines.
• Simplify complex problems into manageable steps for yourself and your team.
• Explore opportunities to improve team workflows, tooling, and engineering processes.
• Engage in open design discussions and code reviews to drive collaboration and quality.
• Assist with critical issues and on‑call rotation to support platform reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of related experience OR Master’s degree with no experience required.
• Basic knowledge of backend technologies theories, principles, and concepts.
• Ability to collaborate with multi‑functional teams and communicate complex ideas clearly.
