Software Engineer – Payments Acquiring Team

About the role

Join Cuscal’s Acquiring team as a Software Engineer and help build innovative payment solutions that serve millions of Australians. You will work on scalable systems, integrate key technologies, and contribute to the future of financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Java‑based applications using Spring Boot.
• Build and optimise relational database solutions with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Implement cloud services on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, S3, RDS).
• Create CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Apply infrastructure‑as‑code practices using Terraform.
• Write unit tests and ensure high test coverage (JUnit, Jest).
• Document solutions following current standards and best‑practice methodology.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a developer or software engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud application delivery.
• Familiarity with unit testing, CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
• Understanding of PCI/DSS compliance and AS2805/ISO8353 is a plus.
