Software Engineer

About the role

NEP Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop tooling and workflows for broadcast hardware and software. The position is based at the state‑of‑the‑art Andrew’s HUB in Southbank, Melbourne, with primarily business‑hour work and hybrid flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test new features using C++ and Go, adapting to other languages as needed.
• Write secure, production‑ready code and contribute to continuous integration pipelines.
• Troubleshoot, profile and optimise code for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product owners, commissioning teams and end‑users to refine user stories and documentation.

Required profile

• Multiple years of software development experience, especially in C/C++.
• Strong understanding of video, audio, networking protocols (HTTP, SDP, RTP) and broadcast standards (NMOS, ST2022, ST2110).
• Familiarity with real‑time video/audio processing and control systems used in large‑scale live events.
