Software Engineer II – Surgical Automation & Visualization

About the role

Enovis is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Enabling Technologies team in Brisbane. The role focuses on surgical automation and visualization, developing high‑performance software that integrates with optical navigation systems and augmented‑reality tools to improve orthopedic procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C# and Unity applications for orthopedic surgical navigation and visualization.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, clinical research, product management, and quality teams to define and deliver software requirements.
• Integrate and optimise optical navigation technologies for real‑time surgical tracking.
• Support the creation of augmented‑reality and immersive visualization tools for surgical planning and execution.
• Interface with hardware components such as cameras and tracking systems to enable system functionality.
• Participate in verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with medical device standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues to maintain reliability and performance.
• Document software architecture, design specifications, and testing procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing C# applications, preferably using Unity.
• Background in building real‑time, high‑performance software for regulated or safety‑critical environments.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, collaborative teams.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging capabilities.
• Understanding of software verification and validation processes for medical devices.
