Software Engineer – Game Development

About the role

PlaySide Studios is seeking multiple Software Engineers on 6‑month fixed‑term contracts to drive end‑to‑end development of games and core features across mobile, VR, AR and PC platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Independently take small games or features from prototype through to final release.
• Integrate gameplay, UI and visual assets using Unity or web‑based tools.
• Adapt quickly to unfamiliar engines, SDKs and platform constraints.
• Own debugging, testing and long‑term maintenance of code generated with assisted development tools.
• Provide mentorship and design robust architecture across multiple active projects.

Required profile

• Strong generalist mindset with ability to dive into new technologies.
• Proven track record of delivering polished player experiences.
• Excellent collaboration, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Can‑do attitude, turning challenges into positive outcomes.

Required skills

• C# programming.
• Unity engine (or equivalent web game development frameworks).
• Experience with debugging, testing and performance optimisation.
