Manager Cyber Security Engineering

About the role

As a Cyber Security Engineering Manager you will lead the design, implementation and operation of core security technologies across Insignia Financial’s hybrid environment. Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security Engineering, you will shape the technology roadmap and provide technical leadership for network, endpoint, data loss prevention and cloud security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and ongoing management of enterprise security technologies across network, endpoint, data protection and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain the cyber security technology roadmap in collaboration with architecture and security stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership during security incidents, supporting investigation, containment and recovery.
• Partner with the Cyber Resilience team to optimise security telemetry, SOC integrations and threat‑detection use cases.
• Establish engineering standards, configuration requirements and best practices for security tools.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Evaluate security products, manage vendor relationships and support commercial outcomes.
• Lead security technology projects, manage delivery risks and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Required profile

• 8+ years of cyber security engineering experience in complex hybrid cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, endpoint security, data loss prevention and cloud security solutions.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with ability to mentor engineering professionals.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills.
• Current knowledge of frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001 and CIS Controls.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent; certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CCSP are favourable.
