Software Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Join AWS Infrastructure Services to design, build, and operate hyper‑scale cloud services that keep the global AWS data centre network running. You will work with a diverse team of engineers, supply‑chain specialists, and security experts to deliver high‑availability, low‑cost solutions for millions of customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and continuously improve distributed system software.
• Investigate design approaches, prototype new technologies and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Write high‑quality code, perform peer code‑reviews and drive engineering best practices.
• Develop and maintain key system features and establish architectural principles.
• Provide technical direction, mentor junior engineers and create/review design documentation.
• Document recurring issues, standard operating procedures and knowledge‑transfer material.

Required profile

• Passion for building hyper‑scale services in the cloud.
• Experience working on large‑scale, distributed applications.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and commitment to safety and security standards.
