Software Engineer – Algorithms (C++, Python, ROS2)

About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer focused on algorithms to join a cutting‑edge robotics company developing autonomy and perception systems for maritime vessels. The role combines advanced robotics, AI and real‑world deployment, allowing you to see your code run on operational ships.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop production‑grade robotics software using C++, Python and ROS2.
- Create algorithms for navigation, path planning, guidance and control.
- Develop and validate algorithms in simulation before field deployment.
- Troubleshoot across the full stack, from software and algorithms to hardware integration.
Required profile
- Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for Baseline security clearance.
- Strong software engineering background in C++ and Python.
- Experience with ROS2 or similar robotics middleware.
- Proficiency with Linux/Ubuntu environments.
