Software Asset Management Consultant

About the role

Datacom is seeking an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Consultant to lead consulting projects for commercial and government clients. You will join an award‑winning SAM team, working on licensing compliance, audit defence and optimisation across Tier 1 software publishers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead SAM consulting engagements, delivering compliance reviews, licensing assessments and audit readiness for customers.
• Configure, administer and report using Flexera One for inventory ingestion, reconciliation and licence position reporting.
• Develop and present licensing‑modelling recommendations, cost‑avoidance strategies and remediation plans.
• Collaborate with SAM team members, licensing consultants and customer account teams to achieve project outcomes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, with strong expertise in Oracle licensing and compliance.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑customer projects in commercial and government environments.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Flexera One (installation, configuration, data ingestion, custom reporting).
• Deep knowledge of licensing rules for Oracle, IBM and Microsoft.
• Ability to perform licence reconciliations, consumption analysis and entitlement mapping.
