Social Worker - Community Legal Centre

About the role

The Mallee Family Care Community Legal Centre (MFC CLC) is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its multidisciplinary team, with a focus on access to justice, social justice, human rights and supporting vulnerable individuals and families. The centre serves the Northern and Southern Mallee of Victoria, and Southwest and Far West New South Wales. The Social Worker provides holistic, client-centred support to people facing complex social, emotional, financial, family and legal challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, support, advocate, refer and coordinate cases to help clients improve their safety, wellbeing and access to services.
• Work with solicitors, financial counsellors, mental health professionals and other community and government services to give coordinated support.
• Contribute to community development, education, advocacy and service collaboration, identifying systemic issues affecting vulnerable people.
• Support initiatives that promote equity, social inclusion and better access to services.

Required profile

• An experienced Social Worker.
• Commitment to social justice, trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for individuals, children and families.
