About the role
HammondCare Home Care Western Sydney is looking for a social volunteer to spend time with a gentleman who enjoys music, writing and painting, and has a small dog that loves gentle company. Visits are relaxed conversations, creative chats, listening to music together or simply keeping him company while his dog moves around. One hour per week brings companionship and connection to his day.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the gentleman once a week, for about one hour, to talk, listen to music and keep him company.
- Bring colour, creativity and kindness to his day.
Required profile
- Aged 18 or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for an hour visit between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Sunday; visits can be weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.
Volunteers are contacted by phone or text after applying, and then by email if needed. More information is available on the HammondCare website.
