Site Reliability Engineer – Remote (Australia)

About the role

Join Axon’s SRE team to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms that power mission‑critical services. You will work remotely from anywhere in Australia, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure high‑quality, dependable services for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms and tools.
• Apply site reliability engineering principles to improve system stability and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in distributed cloud‑native systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support service reliability and operational excellence.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.
• Australian citizenship or ability to obtain government security clearance.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms (AKS, EKS, or similar).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, C#, Java, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, APM).
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, etc.).
