Site Manager – Health Refurbishment Project

About the role

The client, a leading commercial construction group, is delivering a $10M healthcare refurbishment just outside Brisbane CBD. The Site Manager will own all on‑site activities, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery while minimizing disruption to hospital operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations within a live healthcare environment, coordinating with hospital staff to limit impact.
• Schedule and supervise subcontractors and suppliers to meet strict project milestones.
• Lead the site safety program, maintaining an incident‑free record and complying with federal safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and design team to resolve structural and staging challenges.
• Maintain professional relationships with hospital infrastructure teams, client representatives, and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial construction or refurbishment projects, preferably in live healthcare or institutional settings.
• Relevant trade background (e.g., Carpentry) or tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Building Science.
• Demonstrated ability to manage live‑site services cut‑overs, dust/noise containment, and infection‑control protocols.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate subcontractors and command on‑site respect.
