Site Manager - Gibson Island Materials Recovery Facility

About the role

Visy is looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead its Gibson Island Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), one of Queensland's key recycling operations. Reporting to the State Operations Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for site safety, people leadership, financial performance, operational productivity, quality, compliance and customer outcomes. The role suits a proven operational leader who thrives in manufacturing, processing, FMCG, recycling or other heavy industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe and efficient operation of the Gibson Island MRF, accountable for safety, quality, productivity and customer outcomes
• Develop and coach site leaders and employees to build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and operational excellence
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve plant performance, quality, recovery rates and cost efficiency
• Manage site budgets, operational expenditure and profitability outcomes
• Lead operational planning across production, maintenance, safety and quality functions to achieve business targets
• Build relationships with customers, contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders

Required profile

• Extensive leadership experience in manufacturing, processing, recycling, resource recovery, FMCG, food production or other heavy industrial environments
• Proven success leading safe, quality-focused, high-performing operations
• Experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Ability to lead, coach and develop leaders and frontline teams
• Commercial and financial acumen, including budget and cost management experience
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
• Must reside in Australia with full working rights; a criminal history check and pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing) is required
