Service Technician – HVAC Field Service

About the role

The Service Technician will join a leading global manufacturer of air‑conditioning and HVAC solutions, providing on‑site support to residential and commercial customers across Brisbane. This field‑service role combines customer interaction with technical problem‑solving, ensuring safe and efficient operation of heating and cooling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑standard customer service and maintain positive relationships with customers, dealers and contractors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults on residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform servicing, maintenance, repairs and installations of air‑conditioning equipment.
• Prepare repair cost estimates and recommend replacement parts or equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports and documentation using internal systems.
• Coordinate ordering and allocation of parts to support service and repair requirements.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures, including safe handling of refrigerants.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to apprentices when required.

Required profile

• Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Certificate.
• Current driver’s licence and Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Refrigeration Handling Licence and White Card.
• Working with Children Card, Police Check and Defence Cleared Access Card.
• Australian Citizenship and QBBC Individual Mechanical Services Occupational Licence (QLD only).

Required skills

• HVAC troubleshooting – mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.
• Servicing, maintenance and repair of air‑conditioning systems.
• Installation of residential and commercial HVAC equipment.
