Site Engineer - Electrical (Rail Infrastructure)

About the role

Aurizon, Australia's largest rail freight operator, is recruiting a Site Engineer - Electrical in Rockhampton to support a variety of simple and complex civil and electrical rail infrastructure projects. The role suits an engineer experienced in project delivery who wants to take the next step in their career.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and plan construction works and their technical aspects, including cost estimates, internal and external resource and material requirements, integration with other work groups, staging and construction programmes.
• Monitor construction activities so they comply with design documentation, standards and specifications and the safe operation of Aurizon's rail network.
• Prepare quality and certification documentation.
• Manage technical issues and support day-to-day construction activities.
• Flexible roster to suit project and business needs, with occasional travel across the Central Queensland Coal Network.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical), working towards RPEQ.
• 3-5 years of high voltage engineering experience.
• Current Class C driver's licence (mandatory).
• Experience delivering projects from construction through to commissioning.
• Willingness to travel for the role and to complete pre-employment medical testing.

Required skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
• High-level skill in developing technical, design, construction and maintenance engineering solutions.
