Shotfirer - FIFO Pilbara Mines

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for Shotfirers to join its Drill and Blast teams across various Pilbara mine sites, helping drive productivity and achieve operational targets. The work is permanent, with family-friendly rosters of 8:6 or 8:6/7:7, and reporting to the Supervisor of the blast team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain housekeeping and compliance in magazines, magazine compounds, explosive vehicles and work areas.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure safety is prioritised in all activities.
• Take part in all activities involving explosive products, including maintaining the standards of explosive compounds.
• Work with the Blast Supervisor and Coordinator to manage blasting activities.
• Use electronic detonators and firing units.

Required profile

• Valid Australian C Class manual driver's licence or higher.
• Valid Shotfirer's ticket (mandatory) and a Dangerous Goods License.
• Experience working with electronic detonators.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a blast crew safely and efficiently.
• Strong team mindset and flexibility to meet business requirements.
