Service Manager / Trades Manager

About the role

This office‑based leadership position manages a team of electricians and apprentices, overseeing scheduling, workflow, client communication and delivery of electrical service and minor works for a growing multi‑trade contractor in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily scheduling and allocation of electricians and apprentices, coordinating reactive call‑outs, planned maintenance and minor electrical work.
• Ensure technicians remain productive, handle urgent call‑outs, adjust priorities and maintain strong client relationships.
• Review technician reports, job notes, photos and recommendations; prepare quotations, variations and follow up approvals.
• Coordinate materials, labour and subcontractors, monitor job profitability and ensure jobs are closed out correctly for invoicing.
• Provide technical guidance to electricians and apprentices and collaborate with estimating, projects and management teams to maximise opportunities.

Required profile

• Previous experience in commercial electrical service, maintenance or operations.
• Experience managing or coordinating electricians, apprentices or field‑based technicians.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical maintenance and fault‑finding.
• NSW Electrical Licence (highly regarded) and current Australian driving licence.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills.
