SEO Strategist

About the role

Join a senior‑focused performance marketing agency in Melbourne, working directly with the founder to deliver SEO and cutting‑edge Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) campaigns for clients across construction, legal and professional services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical, on‑page and content SEO across a portfolio of clients.
• Build and implement GEO strategies that boost visibility on AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews.
• Lead outreach and digital PR to secure citations, brand mentions and quality backlinks.
• Run technical SEO and GEO audits covering crawlability, indexing, structured data, entity optimisation and site architecture.
• Report on SEO and AI search performance, including AI referral traffic and citation tracking.
• Present strategy and results to clients, linking search visibility to leads, enquiries and revenue.

Required profile

• Two to three years of SEO experience in a digital marketing agency.
• Solid technical SEO, on‑page, keyword research, content and link‑building skills.
• Working understanding of GEO with measurable results.
• Confident client communication and ability to manage several accounts simultaneously.

Required skills

• Technical SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or SEMrush, Looker Studio.
• Experience with on‑page optimisation, keyword research, content strategy and link building.
