Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer – Queensland

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer to join its Water Infrastructure team in regional Queensland. The role involves delivering major water and wastewater projects for clients across North Queensland and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver water infrastructure projects such as pipelines, pump stations, storage reservoirs, and treatment facilities.
• Lead project delivery from business development through design to construction, managing commercial aspects and ensuring budget compliance.
• Provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients across various sectors.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary engineering qualification; RPEQ or CPEng highly regarded.
• Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary water infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and develop new business relationships.
• Interest in long‑term growth within a global organisation and mentoring junior engineers.

Required skills

• Water infrastructure design (pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, treatment plants).
• Project delivery and commercial management.
• Technical leadership in multidisciplinary environments.
