Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

SMEC is seeking an Experienced/Senior Engineer to join its Brisbane Water team. You will work on major water and wastewater projects across Queensland, contributing to the full water cycle from planning through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical design and outcomes for water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations and treatment facilities.
• Manage project tasks, budgets and stakeholder expectations.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Support proposals, tenders and business development activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years’ experience in water infrastructure design and delivery within a consulting environment.
• RPEQ accreditation (or ability to obtain).
• Proven experience in technical delivery, project management and client engagement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
