Senior Transport Planner

About the role

The Senior Transport Planner will provide high‑quality strategic transport planning, urban design and policy advice to support the Council’s vision for a connected, sustainable and livable city. Working on a diverse range of city‑shaping projects, you will help develop transport strategies, policies and initiatives that balance growth, movement and place outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver strategic transport plans, policies and advocacy programmes.
• Manage and contribute to transport planning projects, including education and safety initiatives.
• Provide advice on planning scheme reviews and land‑use policy to align transport networks with future growth.
• Support the development of Council’s transport modelling capabilities and conduct strategic research and analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement across the transport planning branch.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with proven experience in transport planning and urban development.
• Strong analytical, project management and communication skills, able to deliver collaborative projects on time and within budget.
• Proactive and adaptable, capable of building productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
