Senior System Engineer

About the role

As a Senior System Engineer in Cuscal’s Cloud, Data & Infrastructure team, you will design, build and maintain critical cloud and on‑premise services that support millions of Australian payment transactions. You will work on high‑impact projects that improve performance, stability and security across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support corporate, data‑center and cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking and monitoring.
• Design and implement cloud‑based services and automation that meet business objectives and SLA requirements.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to develop deployment strategies for new and existing infrastructure.
• Review and continuously improve performance, stability and security of services and applications.
• Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver solutions on time.
• Participate in the on‑call roster to ensure 24/7 service availability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in systems infrastructure, server support and project delivery in a mission‑critical environment.
• Hands‑on knowledge of hardware, servers, backup devices, cabling and rack management.
• Strong understanding of systems software and operational support.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation technologies.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments (AD, Azure Entra ID, Exchange, ADFS, Satellite).
• Experience with VMware or Hyper‑V, SCCM, Citrix/Azure Virtual Desktop and backup solutions.
