DevOps / System Engineer

About the role

As a DevOps / Systems Engineer, you will drive our cloud and core system infrastructure, network reliability, and automation efforts. Working closely with the DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, security, and scalability of our AWS‑based cloud environment alongside our underlying network and hardware infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure and production Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and cost optimisation.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and systems provisioning.
• Implement and enforce security best practices across network devices, firewalls, cloud services, and containerised environments.
• Monitor overall system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and act as an escalation point for production, hardware, and network outages.
• Partner with developer teams and technical stakeholders to improve core infrastructure operational standards and developer experience.
• Design, configure, and maintain local and cloud networking environments, including VPCs, subnets, VPNs, routing protocols, and firewall rules.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware failures, server degradation, and physical or virtual connectivity issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of proven industry experience.
• Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda) and hands‑on experience managing production Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Solid experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and scripting in Bash or Python.
• Experience with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK).
• Proven background in systems administration, network engineering, and network security protocols.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex system‑level and network‑level incidents.
