Senior Staff Specialist – General Medicine & Geriatrics

About the role

Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service is seeking a dual‑trained General Medicine Physician and Geriatrician to provide senior clinical leadership at Bundaberg Hospital. The role spans acute, sub‑acute, ambulatory, community and virtual settings, supporting frail older patients across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contemporary models of care for frail older persons across multiple care settings.
• Provide specialist geriatric medicine services, including frailty, cognition, rehabilitation and multidisciplinary care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, nursing staff and managers to deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Contribute to clinical, academic, and mentorship activities within the Department of Medicine.

Required profile

• Medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent, with maintenance of CPD and specialist registration.
• Demonstrated experience in geriatric medicine, including frailty, cognition and multidisciplinary care.
• Ability to provide clinical leadership and facilitate teamwork.

Required skills
