Senior Speech Pathologist

About the role

Join Ability Action Australia’s growing team as a Senior Speech Pathologist supporting participants across the Central Coast. You will work in a collaborative, community‑based environment, delivering evidence‑based therapy and mentoring junior clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied, community‑based caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings.
• Provide assessment and therapy for individuals of all ages, including early intervention, paediatrics, adolescents and adults.
• Address needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, communication difficulties and AAC.
• Conduct observations and standardized assessments to develop participant‑centred goals.
• Deliver evidence‑based therapy that enhances communication, participation and independence.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes.
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early‑career clinicians.

Required profile

• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership (SPA).
• Experience as a Speech Pathologist or Senior Speech Pathologist beyond graduation.
• Passion for community‑based support for people with disability.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Desire to mentor graduates and early‑career clinicians.

Required skills

• Speech pathology assessment and intervention.
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) techniques.
• Dysphagia assessment and management.
