Senior Solution Architect - Autonomous Operations

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring a Senior Solution Architect for its Autonomous Operations practice. You will lead the technical architecture of industrial transformation opportunities and consulting engagements, providing technical leadership, mentoring solution consultants and influencing cross-functional teams. You will work closely with AO consultants to turn business priorities into operating architectures and implementation roadmaps, connecting industrial AI and automation advances with Rockwell and partner capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Solution design and architecture: support discovery, qualification and solution positioning; develop architectures linking business value to field devices, control, industrial data, manufacturing operations and enterprise systems; map capabilities to Rockwell and partner technologies and define data models and integration patterns
• Stakeholder engagement: work with consultants on client engagements, lead architecture discussions with CTOs and senior operations, engineering and IT stakeholders, and explain technical choices in business terms
• Implementation feasibility and risk assessment: validate feasibility, scope, dependencies and risks with delivery leads, translate blueprints into work packages, set boundaries for automated decisions and agree architecture and engineering standards
• Technical leadership: develop reusable functional blueprints and reference architectures, mentor architects and engineers, and build relationships with Rockwell technical communities and product teams

Required profile

• Typically 6-10 years of relevant experience in industrial solution architecture, consulting or systems integration, with leadership of complex client architecture engagements
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
• Experience coordinating specialists, leading technical teams and mentoring colleagues

Required skills

• Deep expertise in at least one area: industrial operations (control, MES/MOM, production logistics, asset performance), industrial data (edge connectivity, OT-IT protocols, time-series data, data models, governance), architecture (OT, edge, cloud, enterprise integration, cybersecurity), autonomy (AI, optimisation, orchestration, robotics) or implementation (assurance, deployment patterns, validation)
• Preferred: familiarity with FactoryTalk Data Mosaix, FactoryTalk Optix, Cognite Data Fusion, Plex MES or OTTO autonomous mobile robots; cloud and edge architectures, APIs, industrial integration patterns and data modelling
• Preferred: practical experience with Python, SQL or integration services; experience in mining, food and beverage or another industrial sector; industrial cybersecurity, access management and OT-IT integration
