Senior Analyst Programmer - Energy Trading Systems

About the role

A major participant in the National Electricity Market (NEM), which supplies about 200 terawatt hours of electricity annually, is recruiting a Senior Analyst Programmer through Hays in Brisbane CBD. The role develops and supports high-quality software solutions within the Energy Trading systems landscape, maintains development standards and processes and works with all other software disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design, development and delivery of software solutions for Energy Trading systems
• Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts and testers to deliver outcomes aligned to business priorities
• Plan, estimate and manage development work, including backlog refinement, progress tracking and delivery reporting
• Design and implement technical solutions such as system integrations, APIs and user interfaces, resolving complex technical challenges
• Maintain legacy .NET Framework applications and help uplift solutions to the modern .NET platform

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise software development and delivery
• Experience supporting legacy .NET Framework applications and moving them to modern .NET platforms
• Experience designing and building APIs and distributed services, including RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger, authentication, versioning and service-to-service integration
• Experience with modern web applications using Vue.js (or React / modern Angular), state management, validation and responsive UI design
• Strong automated testing discipline, including unit and integration testing

Required skills

• C# and modern .NET, including ASP.NET Core, dependency injection, background processing and application configuration
• Oracle (11g+) and SQL Server, including SQL development, performance tuning, schema design, migrations and data modelling
