Senior Software Engineer – Payments Platform

About the role

Join Macquarie’s Payments Platform team and help build a modern, real‑time Open Payments Platform that is reliable, scalable and driven by no‑ops technology. As a senior engineer you will own critical platform components, mentor peers and influence technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain core services of the Payments Platform using Java and Spring Boot.
• Ensure high reliability and performance through micro‑services, event‑driven architecture and robust monitoring.
• Participate in incident management, lead root‑cause analysis and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering high‑quality, production‑ready features quickly.
• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Experience working in the payments or cards domain is preferred.
