Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Updoc builds the digital future of healthcare in Australia, and its engineering team handles both the requirements of a high-growth start-up and the security, privacy and reliability needs of the Australian health-tech industry. As the business grows, the role involves building tools and shaping telehealth that improve outcomes for tens of thousands of patients and doctors every week.

Key responsibilities

• Create low-code prototypes to validate ideas quickly with product managers, low-code builders and clinical, legal and other teams.
• Design reliable, production-ready systems that ensure every medical outcome reaches the people who depend on them.
• Build meaningful systems end to end: understand, validate, build and maintain them.
• Monitor data, apps and infrastructure to surface problems, propose solutions and deliver the ones that make the most impact.

Required profile

• Even-keeled and resilient, enjoying solving interesting technical problems; hard problems energise you.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, whether as a generalist or focused in one area.
• Eager to grow in a collaborative team and interested in life outside code.
• Proud of your work and committed to continuous learning.

• Typescript servers and browser clients
• AWS cloud infrastructure
• Postgres databases
• Low-code workflow automation tools
• Clojure servers and Kafka (learned on the job)
