Senior Social Worker - Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence

About the role

Fremantle Mental Health Service is looking for a Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Senior Social Worker to join its team in Fremantle. The role provides advanced social work and community development skills to give consultation, liaison, capacity building and education to multidisciplinary staff across the service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and support to consumers and their families or significant others who have mental health issues and are at risk of, impacted by or using family, domestic and sexual violence
• Liaise with and contribute to partnerships with government and non-government organisations to plan, develop and strengthen integrated responses
• Provide supervision and support, and practice in line with the Australian Association of Social Workers Practice Standards and Code of Ethics and SMHS policies and guidelines

Required profile

• Valid Australian work rights; permanent appointments may be made to citizens, permanent residents or visa holders able to work in Australia
• Applicants must pass a criminal records screening and integrity check, and possibly a working with children check and a pre-employment health assessment
• The position is permanent or fixed-term, full-time or part-time, with possible extension or permanency
