Senior Site Reliability DevOps Engineer (EL1)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability DevOps Engineer (EL1) to support a Federal Government client in Australia. The role combines platform development, observability, and incident response within a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and maintain departmental platforms.
• Design and operate in‑house observability and monitoring solutions.
• Create Grafana dashboards, alerts and visualisations.
• Administer and optimise MySQL and PostgreSQL databases (tuning, backup, recovery).
• Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply security hardening measures across Linux and Windows servers.
• Support incident response, root‑cause analysis and documentation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (EL1) with a security clearance of NV1.
• 12‑month contract with possible 24‑month extensions.
• Hybrid work arrangement: first 3 months full‑time onsite, then office days plus three remote days per week.

Required skills

• Java, Clojure, Bash scripting.
• MySQL, PostgreSQL administration.
• Grafana dashboard creation and monitoring.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline development.
• Linux and Windows server administration.
• Networking fundamentals.
• Security hardening, incident response and RCA.
