Senior SEO Specialist

About the role

Digital Surfer is seeking a seasoned SEO professional to own strategy, lead client accounts and mentor the team. You will work directly with the General Manager and technical specialists to deliver measurable search performance for a portfolio of Australian and international brands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute 1‑, 3‑, 6‑ and 12‑month SEO road‑maps for key client accounts.
• Lead client communication, monthly reporting and account health reviews.
• Conduct competitor analysis, keyword research and produce detailed content briefs.
• Direct technical SEO work alongside the technical team, including schema markup, internal linking and advanced on‑page optimisation.
• Implement conversion tracking, performance benchmarking and data‑driven optimisation.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level specialists, raising the overall quality of the SEO function.
• Contribute to the evolution of the agency’s AI‑driven SEO and GEO offerings.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of hands‑on SEO experience, preferably agency‑side.
• Proven track record of improving rankings and retaining satisfied clients.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with deep technical knowledge.
• Excellent client communication skills, calm under pressure and results‑focused.
• Ability to own accounts end‑to‑end with minimal supervision.
