Senior Security Consultant

About the role

A Canberra-based cyber security team supporting a large enterprise environment is looking for an experienced Senior Security Consultant. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role working onsite, focused on designing, implementing and operating cyber security technologies across endpoint, identity, cloud and security monitoring domains. It suits someone who combines technical security expertise with consulting ability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support cyber security products and technologies
• Manage and optimise endpoint security and identity and access management solutions
• Implement and operate vulnerability management, SIEM and SOAR platforms
• Support the planning and coordination of technical security implementations
• Engage with stakeholders during solution deployment, testing and operational transition
• Provide security consulting and technical guidance across multiple projects
• Assist with solution design, technical workshops and pre-sales activities where required
• Contribute to operational security improvement initiatives and best practices
• Mentor and support junior consultants and team members
• Take part in knowledge sharing, capability uplift and continuous learning

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering cyber security consulting or security engineering services
• Strong experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft XDR and Azure security technologies
• Hands-on experience in SOC operations, including incident investigation, response and triage
• Experience with endpoint security, vulnerability management and IAM platforms
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructure security, networking and security architecture
• Experience with scripting, automation and operational efficiency improvements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Australian citizenship is mandatory; NV1 clearance required, NV2 highly desirable
