Azure Infrastructure Engineer (NV1 Clearance)

About the role

Cleared is recruiting an experienced Azure Infrastructure Consultant for a client, one of Australia's fastest-growing ASX-listed advisory and technology services organisations, which serves government, defence and enterprise customers. The role sits in the Managed Services team in Canberra or Melbourne and covers the design, implementation, automation and optimisation of secure Azure platforms. It suits a technically strong consultant who enjoys hands-on delivery, automation and complex, highly regulated environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and implement Azure infrastructure from approved architecture and design documentation
• Provision, configure and integrate Azure services across enterprise environments
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Ansible, Bicep and ARM templates
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Implement networking solutions such as VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Load Balancers, NAT Gateway, Private Endpoints and ExpressRoute, including hub-and-spoke architectures
• Deploy Azure Integration Services (Event Hubs, Logic Apps, Azure Functions)
• Set up monitoring, logging and observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and diagnostic settings
• Implement security controls aligned to ISM and Essential Eight, and manage Customer Managed Keys and encryption
• Deploy and support Azure Virtual Desktop, including FSLogix, image management and hardening
• Build infrastructure supporting SAP workloads, and implement Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault and Veeam backup solutions
• Support disaster recovery planning, testing and failover
• Manage identity and access with Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC and Privileged Identity Management
• Take part in architecture reviews, change management and governance, and write technical documentation, runbooks and procedures

Required profile

• Active NV1 security clearance and Australian citizenship
• Experience delivering Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions
• Experience with Azure landing zones, governance and enterprise-scale deployments
• Experience in government, defence or regulated environments; defence experience highly desirable
• Customer-facing consulting skills and stakeholder engagement
