Senior Secondary Coordinator (Years 10-12)

About the role

Medowie Christian School, part of Christian Education Ministries, is seeking a Senior Secondary Coordinator to join its Middle Leadership Team. The role leads the culture and classrooms from Year 10 to 12 and works alongside students and families as they move from secondary school into their next steps. It includes teaching of secondary classes in the successful applicant's key learning area, plus a leadership allowance. The position is full-time, expected to start Term 1, 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Academic and Pastoral Care programs and initiatives within Senior Secondary, working with the Head of Secondary and the wider leadership team.
• Develop academic communications: teaching and learning programs, scope and sequence, assessment schedules, exam timetables, study skills and pathway planning for graduating students.
• Track student academic performance with the Deputy Principal, review semester reports and refer students needing support to the Learning Engagement Team.
• Work with the Head of Secondary to use data such as RAP Analysis, ei Pulse and School Reporting to inform teaching practice.
• Support the Head of Secondary with NESA key dates and curriculum details for grades and results.
• Act as a formal agent of positive behaviour strategies and discipline, supporting Care Group and Mentor teachers with students of concern, uniform and attendance.
• Oversee Care Groups by visiting them regularly, identifying struggling students and working with them on their approach to schooling.
• Monitor pastoral care and behaviour concerns flagged in the Schools Wellbeing Portal weekly, and organise buddies for new enrollees.

Required profile

• Suitable teaching qualifications and registration with NESA.
• Strong commitment to Christian schooling and ability to teach from a biblical worldview; active Christian faith and regular church attendance.
• Enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to receive feedback and act on it.
• Care for students' mental, physical, social and spiritual growth.
