Head of Primary

About the role

Medowie Christian School, part of Christian Education Ministries (CEM), is seeking a Head of Primary for its Primary sub-school. The role sits in the school's Executive Team and reports directly to the Principal. It covers curriculum, pastoral care and wellbeing, the use of technology, learning resources, staff leadership and parent engagement, and contributes to the leadership of the whole school community.

Key responsibilities

• Pastoral care: lead students, staff and families from a Christian perspective, oversee engagement with faith through devotions, Chapel and wellbeing programs, and help build the school's values, culture, celebration and discipline system.
• Curriculum: oversee the Primary teaching and learning programs, lead assessment design aligned with school, NESA and ACE Manual requirements, coach staff on pedagogical initiatives such as Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction, and lead formal reporting and feedback.
• Technology: administer and maintain SeeSaw and CANVAS, ensure technology agreements are followed, and lead the maturation of technology use for teaching and learning.
• Manage the purchase and inclusion of learning resources, and engage with parents.

Required profile

• A sincere, steadfast relationship with Jesus Christ, with a vibrant Christian faith evidenced by service in a local church, and the ability to articulate faith to others.
• Experience in educational leadership and evidence of successful leadership in Christian schools.
• Right to work in Australia, proof of identity, and clearance status of the Working with Children Check.
• Registered teaching qualification recognised by NESA, and statements of service and references from previous child-connected roles.
