Senior Regulatory Advisor

About the role

nbn is looking for a Senior Regulatory Advisor to report to the General Manager Regulatory Economics. The role supports the Regulatory team in shaping and navigating the commercial and regulatory environment to help deliver Australia's digital future. It involves providing practical regulatory and economic advice, managing key regulatory initiatives and supporting compliance and regulatory outcomes, with a high degree of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Economic regulation under nbn's Special Access Undertaking (SAU) through three-yearly revenue proposals, including work on demonstrating the prudence and efficiency of nbn's expenditure
• Contribute to stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and continuous improvement
• Mentor colleagues and foster a collaborative, inclusive and solutions-focused approach
• Prepare high-quality submissions and contribute to strategic initiatives

Required profile

• Qualifications in Economics, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of economic regulation, infrastructure regulation and the broader regulatory environment
• Ability to interpret financial, pricing and cost information and identify regulatory risks and opportunities
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across diverse teams
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• Ability to translate complex concepts into clear insights
• Full working rights in Australia
