Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple, concurrent capital works projects for Hobsons Bay City Council, partnering with consultants, contractors, internal teams and the community to deliver building, civil and open‑space outcomes that align with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex, concurrent capital works projects.
• Establish and manage project scope, governance, budgets, timelines and risks.
• Procure and manage consultants and contractors in a public‑sector environment.
• Oversee design, construction and contract administration to agreed standards.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide clear executive reporting.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, construction or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience managing design and construction phases of capital projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, multiple funding sources and reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Strong contract administration experience, including work with Australian Standards contracts.
