Senior Project Manager - Grid Automation

About the role

Hitachi Energy's Grid Automation business unit, which supports 50% of the top 250 global electric utilities, is looking for a Senior Project Manager in Lilydale, Victoria. The role leads the project team, defines main guidelines, allocates tasks and monitors internal and external resources to deliver milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule: define, together with the Project Controls department, scope, financial, schedule and risk management plans.
• Execute and control the project: follow execution best practices and company policies, monitor progress, resource use, costs, invoicing and cash flow, manage risks and capture lessons learned.
• Ensure formal project closure, contract close-out and customer acceptance.
• Contract, claims and procurement: apply contract and claims management, coordinate with Supply Chain Management and procure services, materials and equipment from internal and external suppliers, supporting supplier negotiations and project changes.
• Stakeholder relations: act as key customer contact and escalation point, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Health, safety and environment: ensure compliance with HSE policies and external and internal regulations.

Required profile

• Experience in power generation, preferably battery energy storage, solar or wind.
• Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or recognised equivalent.
• PMP certification highly desirable.
• High-level technical aptitude in electrical engineering and industrial software technologies, and an interest in BESS control systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organisation, autonomy and flexibility under pressure.
