Air Conditioning Service Technician

About the role

A long-established Victorian HVAC business known for quality workmanship is hiring an Air Conditioning Service Technician in Lilydale. You will service, repair and maintain air conditioning and mechanical plant for customers across the Melbourne CBD and surrounding suburbs. The role is hands-on and customer-facing, combining technical troubleshooting with clear communication on site.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial and residential air conditioning systems
• Diagnose and repair faults in split systems, ducted systems, VRF/VRV systems, chillers and package units
• Handle refrigerants safely and in line with ARCtick requirements
• Liaise with customers on site, explaining faults and discussing service outcomes
• Complete job sheets, service reports and compliance documentation accurately and on time

Required profile

• 3-5 years' post-apprenticeship experience in air conditioning service, ideally commercial HVAC or building services
• Cert III in Electrotechnology (Air Conditioning & Refrigeration)
• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence and Restricted Electrical Licence
• Relevant induction cards (e.g. White Card), Victorian driver's licence and Australian work rights
• Strong communication and customer relations skills, professional appearance on site
• Enthusiastic, reliable attitude and ability to lead by example in a team
• BMS/controls experience with chillers and VAV devices is desirable
