Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

About the role

Hays Recruitment is recruiting, on behalf of a well-established construction business, an experienced Project Manager for a permanent, senior position based in the Hobart region. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead complex commercial construction projects from tender and estimating through to completion, combining hands-on delivery with estimating and commercial oversight. The company emphasises relationships, integrity, safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, estimating and delivery of complex commercial construction projects
• Prepare and oversee tenders, estimates and cost plans
• Manage budgets, programmes, cost control and commercial risk
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project life cycle
• Oversee contract interpretation, negotiation and compliance
• Provide commercial and technical input into tenders, procurement and programming
• Lead project handovers and drive a collaborative approach to delivery
• Mentor project and estimating team members
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements

Required profile

• Experienced construction professional with a strong background in project management, or an experienced site manager looking to progress
• Ideally experience delivering complex construction or infrastructure projects valued above $10 million
• Strong commercial knowledge and understanding of construction contracts and tendering processes
• Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, estimating or a related discipline
• Current driver's licence and White Card
