Senior Production Operator – Dairy Processing

About the role

The Union Dairy Company is seeking experienced Production Operators, including Senior Production Operators, to work in its state‑of‑the‑art dairy processing plant in Penola, South Australia. You will operate fully automated equipment that transforms raw milk into a range of dairy products and nutritional ingredients.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a best‑in‑class automated milk processing line (milk, cream, skim milk).
• Run highly automated evaporators and spray‑dryers to produce nutritional dairy powders.
• Manage an automated packing and palletising line.
• Support food safety and quality programs and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain a computerized inventory management system.
• Keep the work area clean and safe using foaming machines, wet scrubbers, sweepers and manual tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably dairy.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• High attention to detail and excellent time‑management skills.
• Commitment to occupational health and safety and food‑safety standards.
• Current forklift licence.

Required skills

• Operation of automated milk processing equipment.
• Experience with evaporators and spray‑dryers.
• Operation of automated packing and palletising lines.
• Use of computerized inventory management systems.
• Forklift operation.
