Senior / Principal Consultant - Databricks

About the role

An established specialist Data & AI consultancy is growing its Brisbane team and is looking for senior and principal-level data engineers with strong, hands-on Databricks delivery experience. You will design and build data platforms and pipelines for clients, mostly on Databricks, taking a business problem through to a working solution. Engagements can be delivered alone or by leading a small team, and the work is technology agnostic, starting with the client's problem rather than a platform to sell.

Key responsibilities

• Work across Snowflake and Microsoft/Azure where clients need it
• Turn business requirements into clear technical solutions
• Deliver on your own or lead a small team on client work
• Guide and mentor other consultants
• Help with proposals and solution shaping

Required profile

• Real hands-on Databricks implementation experience (essential)
• Strong data engineering, including data modelling, SQL and modern ELT and integration patterns
• Consulting or client-facing delivery experience, ideally at senior or principal level
• Comfortable working independently and in front of clients

Required skills

• Databricks (hands-on implementation)
• Snowflake and Microsoft/Azure
• SQL and data modelling
• Unity Catalog and Databricks AI experience are valuable; data governance is a plus

What we offer

• Base salary of $155k to $205k plus super, depending on experience
• Permanent full-time, Brisbane-based position with flexible hybrid working
• Ongoing learning and career development
• Health and wellbeing support, paid parental leave and a reward and recognition program
