Senior Placement Broker – Property

About the role

Marsh Risk is looking for an experienced Senior Placement Broker, Property to join its Sydney team. This hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the Barangaroo office and involves leading end‑to‑end insurance placements for commercial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic property insurance placements from market planning through to binding accurate placement binders.
• Manage client relationships as the primary adviser, presenting strategies, running renewal meetings and providing market updates.
• Coordinate with underwriters and carriers to negotiate terms and secure cost‑effective coverage.
• Provide risk advisory on exposures, including natural catastrophe assessment.
• Mentor junior brokers to drive team performance and profitability.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of commercial insurance or risk management experience with proven placement success.
• Deep technical knowledge of property coverages, policy forms and catastrophe exposure assessment.
• Strong client relationship, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Finance or related field; professional designations (ARM, CPCU) preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with analytics and risk management systems.
