Senior Pharmacist – Education and Training

About the role

Eastern Health is seeking a senior pharmacist to lead its Education and Training pharmacy team across one of Victoria’s largest metropolitan public health services. The role is responsible for the direction, planning, provision and review of supervisory and education programmes for pharmacy students, interns, residents, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, educate, mentor and performance‑manage the Education and Training pharmacy staff.
• Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of structured education programmes, incorporating new technologies and workforce needs.
• Ensure supervising pharmacists are oriented to programme requirements and equipped to foster learning environments.
• Provide training and support to pharmacists to enable effective supervision of students, interns and other pharmacists.
• Coordinate orientation, assessments, performance appraisals, feedback collection and VicPlace placement processes.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary education initiatives across medical, nursing, allied health and pharmacy disciplines.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of pharmacy education and training with proven leadership experience.
• Ability to mentor, supervise and manage performance of pharmacy staff.
• Experience developing adaptable education programmes in collaboration with site managers and clinical leads.
• Demonstrated capability to work within a large public health service and meet Grade 4 merit criteria.
