Senior People & Culture Advisor

About the role

A well-established organisation in a fast-paced, operational environment is seeking an experienced People & Culture Advisor for a 12-month parental leave contract in Perth. The role reports directly to the General Manager – People & Culture and suits a confident HR generalist who enjoys working close to the business, supporting operational leaders and giving practical advice across the full employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide generalist HR advice across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, transfers, promotions and exits
• Manage employee relations matters such as performance management, investigations, grievances and misconduct
• Interpret and apply Awards, employment legislation and internal policies
• Coach and support leaders in handling employee matters consistently
• Support organisational change, including restructures, roster or shift changes and relocations, and help with consultation, communication and transition activities
• Coordinate cyclical P&C activities such as performance and development reviews, remuneration discussions and workforce planning
• Report on workforce information including turnover, absenteeism and ER trends
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and capability development, and contribute to engagement, recognition and culture initiatives

Required profile

• Experienced People & Culture professional comfortable in a practical, hands-on environment
• Ideally generalist HR/ER experience in manufacturing, heavy industry or another operational environment
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
• Ability to build trusted relationships with employees, frontline leaders and senior stakeholders

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of employee relations, Awards and Australian employment legislation
• Experience supporting leaders through performance, conduct, workplace change and workforce challenges
